(More customer reviews)When my publisher's publicist dragged me by the arm over to meet author, Heather Hornback Bland at a recent book festival where I was suppose to be pitching my own book, he pleaded "You have just got to pick this woman's book for your book club!" On first glance I thought, former Miss America, she was just that beautiful, striking in fact. You see I too judged a book by it's cover and pereceived Heather Hornback Bland as writing another inspirational book from a former beauty queen. What I learned upon meeting Heather was so much further from the truth than I ever could have imagined.
You see Heather had accidentily been run over by her mother. What? How did that happen? All I have to say is you have to read the book.
I invited Heather to speak at my annual Christian and Inspirational festival, Books Alive and my life has been changed forever. If you buy one book this holiday season, buy "God Said Yes". This story is important because you see to me this holiday season I have seen it as a test. A test for me of giving to someone who has such a great need without me being able to receive a thing in return. I have been on a personal mission every since to help her.
Never in my life have I ever touched someone in person who I felt was filled with God's love. God did say yes and when you read this book remember. That life is precious and we are all here on this earth for a purpose. My faith has been renewed ten fold and I have made this book an official Pulpwood Queen Book Club Selection for 2008. Heather will be back to visit my book club this coming January, God willing and my prayer is that someone will read her story and come forth to give her financial security. To be run over accidentilly by your mother and live to tell the tale, then to endure 200 operations in order to just live, is something no one should have to bear besides worrying each month if you will have the money for your medical needs to live. The Pulpwood Queens and all our Pulpwood authors have all rallied to help Heather live. I encourage you too to help by buying this book and paying it forward. The greatest gift I was ever given for Christmas was the blessing of getting to know Heather. She is truly a gift from heaven. Her book will make you realize the true meaning of Christmas.

One woman's inspiring journey though tragedy and sorrow-and the faith that made her entire life a miracle. When she was just a child, Heather's life was altered by an accident that completely destroyed many of her internal organs. The doctors gave her no chance of survival-but with God's grace, she proved them wrong. When they said she would never walk, she defied them again. And though they insisted she could never have children, she gave birth to two. When others said no...God said yes. More than a story of suffering and survival, Heather's life is a testament to the power of faith. From the first decisive moments after the accident, Heather and her mother put their trust in God, and let Him work in their lives. With her husband DeWayne and her daughter Mackenzie-the two greatest miracles in her life-Heather has found great joy, and many reasons to give praise. This is her amazing story-offering hope and inspiration to all.
